About us
Welcome to Curlytail Cornish Rex.
I became fascinated with the Cornish Rex breed in the early ‘90s. I purchased an entire female – a Chocolate Tortie, as at the time the breeder wanted to expand the availability of Cornish Rex in Western Australia and welcomed my enthusiasm. I became a registered breeder with CatsWA and also showed my Cornish Rex.
After a few years, my circumstances changed and I was unable to continue breeding but always had Cornish Rex cats.
I bought a beautiful desexed boy from the Picobello cattery – Picobello This Charming Man – to start off showing again. In his first year he earned the titles Sapphire Grand Premier.
I purchased my two foundation queens – Charian Miss Elowen and Charian Zambezi Blue in 2022 who both showed successfully in that year.
Our first stud boy Mythos Marvellous Marvin showed successfully and earned the title Emerald Grand Champion before retiring. He remains within our breeding programme as a vasectomised male – a very valuable asset to us.
In early 2025 we welcome our new stud boy WagneRex The Dark Knight (Bruce Wayne) from the amazing WagneRex cattery in America to help improve our lines and diversify the Cornish Rex genes in Australia.
Although this breed is not hypo-allergenic, it is an option for some that are allergic to the guard hair and not the dander and saliva – or those that can tolerate a rex over another type of cat. Those that are allergic, are encouraged to spend time with a Cornish Rex – some may be surprised!
I am happy to talk to you about a fun-filled life with a Cornish Rex clown. They are loving, loyal and entertaining. Mine share the house with greyhounds – and guess who rules the roost?
